Study at the academy is organised into different classes depending on the course selected. The first semester of the fine and applied arts classes are accompanied by a foundation course (Design Basics – Prof. Eva von Platen).

In contrast to fine and applied arts courses, the art education course (teaching art at high school) is conducted in modules. The course also includes art-related sciences (art history, theory and communication of art, art and industry), the project class for interactive art and study workshops. The academy also offers a postgraduate course in artistic practice in public spaces

The prerequisite for study at the academy is exceptional artistic-creative talent in the selected area of study. The academy professors therefore offer portfolio guidance for prospective students.

You are also welcome to arrange an appointment directly with the lecturer. Portfolio guidance is not a prerequisite for successful candidacy.

Please contact the academy secretary's office for questions on application, admission and the students’ service for all disciplines
